The Everyday, All Day Balm - Water-Free Body Balm for Cracked Heels, Elbows & Hands

Most creams are mostly water. This one has none.

Eight ingredients, blended into a thick, concentrated balm for skin that needs more than lotion. Cracked heels. Rough elbows and knees. Hands that have been washed too many times to count. The patches that never seem to stay soft no matter what you put on them.

Because there is no water in it, a little goes further than you expect. Most people find one jar lasts four to six months.

Tea tree and peppermint give it a distinctly herbal, almost medicinal smell when you first apply it. It settles within a few minutes. That smell is the evidence the active oils are actually in there, rather than a fragrance added to cover something up.

The whole formula, named

• Shea Butter — the base. Thick, fatty and slow to absorb, which is exactly what dry skin needs from a balm rather than a lotion.
• Coconut Oil — absorbs faster than shea on its own, so the balm sinks in instead of sitting on the surface.
• Castor Oil — draws moisture toward the skin and helps hold it there under the seal.
• Tea Tree Oil — naturally antibacterial. Also part of why the balm smells the way it does.
• Peppermint Oil — cooling on skin that feels tight, sore or split.
• Beeswax — the seal. It is what keeps the balm working overnight instead of rubbing off on the sheets, and it is also why this product is not vegan.
• Citric Acid — adjusts the pH so the balm sits closer to the skin's own.
• Ethyl Vanillin — the only ingredient here purely for scent, and the only synthetic one. We would rather name it than describe the formula as something it is not.
