UNDERSTAND THE TEXTURE

Rich care. Zero added water.

Water-free describes what is in the jar. Here is what that means for the way you use it.

The actual rich balm texture inside an open Lucy’s Renewals jar

What does water-free mean?

A water-free, or anhydrous, formula has no added water. Lucy’s Renewals The Everyday, All Day Balm is made with shea butter, oils, beeswax and scent ingredients. Its full eight-ingredient list contains no water.

Skin-care textures vary. Your preferences, the area you are caring for and the ingredients you choose all help determine a good fit.

A balm you massage in.

The texture is rich and concentrated. Warm a small amount between your fingers, work it into clean, dry skin and give it time to absorb. Adding more is not always more comfortable: start small and adjust to the area.

This balm is scented and contains beeswax. Check the complete ingredient list if you avoid particular ingredients.

Balm, cream or lotion?

Lotions usually feel lighter; creams tend to be thicker. A balm can be useful when you prefer a richer texture for a small dry area. Product names alone do not tell the whole story: read the ingredients and directions.

Our balm versus lotion guide walks through the practical differences.

A small scoop, a simple routine.

  1. Start with clean, dry skin, following the label.
  2. Warm a small amount between your fingers.
  3. Massage into dry areas and allow it to absorb.
  4. Use twice daily or as needed. Walk with care after applying to heels.

A generous 4 fl oz / 120 ml jar is intended to provide 3+ months of care. Actual jar life depends on how much you use and how many areas you apply it to. Start small and adjust the amount to the area you are caring for.
